Freshness, precision and purity are the signature of Lombardi Champagnes. We only make use of the first press juice, whose essence is expressed only after maturing on the lees for at least 24 months, then resting in the bottle for 6 to 18 months after disgorgement. This prolonged aging process gives our wines great finesse. It brings sophisticated and complex aromas with a delicate and pure finish. Our passion for Pinot Noir, the typical grape of the region, is illustrated in our Blancs de Noirs, champagnes of character which unfold in an infinitely aromatic richness. Amateur or connoisseur, you will be seduced by the range of flavor offered in our cuvées to be enjoyed on all occasions, during an aperitif with friends or with a gourmet meal.
The taste of simplicity, the art of sophistication
CHAMPAGNE LOMBARDI
Our story
Stéphane Lombardi embarked on creating his first cuvée, which was eventually released in 2011, a symbolic year as it also marks the birth of his daughter, Camille. His gamble paid off! The professional press quickly became enamored, with Wine Spectator even awarding scores of 92/100. This recognition, or rite of passage, encouraged him to stay the course.
Soon after, a full range of Champagnes was launched, including a Blanc de Noirs, Blanc de Blancs, Brut, Rosé, and a vintage Blanc de Noirs. Creative and innovative, Stéphane Lombardi prefers to work at blending the Pinot Noir wine, a grape variety typical of his region. He particularly appreciates this grape for the endless range of wines it allows him to create, including several of his impressive Blancs de Noirs, achieved through subtle variations in dosage and cultivation.
The last born is the Blancs de Noirs Extra Brut with a dosage below 4 grams of sugar per liter.
Passionate purist and convivial wine enthusiast
It has been more than fifteen years since the Champagne adventure started for Stéphane Lombardi. After having worked in major international groups specializing in wines and spirits, traveling the globe and discovering some of the finest terroirs and varietals, he naturally focused his attention on Champagne. This “elegant and precious” wine, as he describes it, is particularly interesting to him for its complex development, which he compares to pastry: “a mixture of technique and know-how, of chemical reactions, of patience and methodology… a blend that aims for a certain perfection in taste, offering sweetness to both the palate and the spirit”.
